I want a tiny house...

...for my backyard...and not just for Halloween :)

Admittedly tho, the place we are currently has a rather tiny kitchen. And that is teaching me some valuable lessons.

Feeling monstrous...

Transcontinental moves are difficult to say the least. Because we've done this once before I know there is an awkward period of transition. On the border of the past and the threshold of the future it's a liminal time; neither here nor there, neither this nor that. Doesn't make it any easier but good to know it will pass.

Halloween Costume Ideas

Recently saw the new Ghostbusters. I liked it! Much better than I'd been led to believe. Cameos by most original cast members (even Slimer) was cute touch. Kate McKinnon stole the show. I felt Melissa McCarthy's character was a misstep; straightest character I've seen her do and it didn't feel right somehow. Suspect there will be a multitude of Ghostbuster costumes this Halloween.

If you're looking for some different ideas for a costume, something more pagan-ee perhaps? Check these out...

Charles Frger
21st C Pagan Garb

"Several years ago Charles Frger set out to document the many costumes used all over Europe for pagan rituals, visiting 18 countries on his journey to pin down the archetype of the Wild Man that transcends any one culture. The pictures were then collected in a marvelous book called Wilder Mann. The costumes he found resemble something out of commedia dellarte or Da de los Muertos, only far deeper and far stranger. They clearly represent the devil, billy goats, wild boars, and bizarre conflagrations thereof, using all manner of masks, straw, horns, pine twigs, antlers, bells, fur, and bones."

Halloween Retail Finds - Jo-Ann Fabrics 8/6/2016

Went to Jo-Ann Fabrics this week looking for some material for a project and wow the Halloween was nice.  I spent all my time at the Halloween that I forgot all about why I was there. But hey no problem, just another excuse to go back.  But not like I need an excuse to go back to a craft store!

I loved the little Autumn/Halloween fairy garden type items. I mean after all my fairies can celebrate Halloween too, right!

Vintage kitchen towel must have!!  Well anything with black cats on it is a must, but when you add vintage style with black cats then guess what comes home with me immediately.

Over all really loved all their items, but like AC Moore nothing for baking or candy making yet.  Hopefully soon.. I have plans to make for I love to bake!!

Check out the gallery below for over 130 pictures from Jo-ann Fabrics!!

Halloween Retail Finds - AC Moore 8/6/16

It seems like every time I walk into AC Moore they always have some new Halloween surprise in store for me.  I would of never expected when I walked into AC Moore this weekend that I would have more Halloween for me to discover.  They  added lots of craft projects which I did not take photos of.  They also add some other vintage looking Halloween stuff, which I really loved and these cute steam punk looking little pumpkin.

Day of the Dead was also added, I really loved their sugar skulls. Also added was so party pack items which would be great for kids parties or trick or treaters.

The one thing I am waiting on is Halloween in the baking aisle.  I am curious to what Wilton will have and watch cupcake holders and candy molds will be.  I love making cupcakes!

Enjoy 50 plus more photos from AC Moore in the gallery below!

Spooky Retail Finds - Big Lots 7/30/16

Went to Big Lots this weekend and they were in the middle of putting out their Halloween.  Between my phone have problems and losing some pics and there was still stuff in boxes and I was not able to get a full grasp on everything they had. I did love their skeletons!  My favorite had to be the wolf skeleton that howled.  Its great and I plan on buying one soon.
